NovaThreads are FDA-cleared, absorbable sutures placed under the facial skin during a thread lift procedure, to physically lift the interstitial tissue and enhance collagen production. The PDO thread will be absorbed by your body, but improved fullness and firmness due to new collagen can last up to a year.  The Threads are completely absorbed by your body in 6 to 12 months and results typically last a year. How long do results last after NovaThreads compared to a surgical face lift?

NovaThrerads are an injectable, directional skin firming option. The Threads are completely absorbed by your body in 6 to 12 months and results typically last a couple of years. A surgical face lifts typically lasts about 5 years.

With NovaThreads the up front cost is significantly lower, and you can always come back in a year or two to refresh your results. With a surgical facelift you may not be able to have more than one because of scar tissue created during the first surgery.

What Can I Expect During My Appointment?

Your injector will place the threads in less than an hour. They will start by numbing your face with local anesthesia, so your thread lift shouldn’t hurt. 

During the treatment, a preloaded needle is inserted into the skin. Your injector then leaves the thread beneath the skin when she removes the needle. Your skin gently reacts to the threads and begins repairing itself around the suture.

The threads can be placed to stimulate collagen in areas of volume loss or to fill a fold. They can also be used to pull and tighten the skin, such as that of the neck or brows.  

What Should I Expect After Treatment?

There is little to no social or professional downtime after NoveThread injection. There is no need for pain medications or antibiotic. You may have some minor bruising and sometimes a face wrap is recommended to enhance the result, but the wrap is only for night time, and with a bit of makeup no one will ever know!
