What to Expect Before, During, and After a CoolSculpting® Treatment?

First things First... What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting uses a patented technology based on cryolipolysis to freeze and eliminate fat from stubborn areas, non-invasively. CoolSculpting is a non surgical procedure with little to no downtime!

CoolSculpting’s patented cooling technology treats your problem areas and lowers the temperature of the treated area to just the right degree where your fat cells freeze, but your skin cells aren’t affected.

CoolSculpting can address stubborn fat in the areas that bother you most: muffin top (abdomen), love handles (flanks), double chin (submental fat), under the jawline (submandibular), upper arms, bra fat, back fat, banana rolls (fat underneath the buttocks), saddle bags (outer thighs) or inner thighs.

What To Expect Before CoolSculpting® Treatment
Before getting a CoolSculpting treatment, we will need to determine if you are a candidate and assess during a consultation.  We will be looking for subcutaneous fat (fat you can grab or tug on).  Every body is different, which is why it is important for us to work with you to develop a customized treatment plan for your body.

What To Expect During CoolSculpting® Treatment
Treatment times vary depending on what part of the body you are having treated. Treatments can take as little as 35 minutes per treatment area, allowing enough time for a quick show or to take a snooze before you head back to work.

During the procedure you may experience sensations of pulling, tugging, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling, stinging, aching, and cramping at the treatment site. These sensations subside as the area becomes numb.

What to Expect After CoolSculpting® Treatment
CoolSculpting® is a FDA-cleared, safe, and effective way to reduce fat by delivering precisely controlled cooling to gently and effectively target the fat cells underneath the skin, a process known as cryolipolysis. Treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), then die. After your CoolSculpting® treatment, your body naturally processes and eliminates the dead fat cells in the treated area!

Remember, CoolSculpting® is not a weight loss procedure, but a nonsurgical way of reducing the fat in those stubborn areas that may be resistant to diet and exercise. After a CoolSculpting® treatment, patients can expect up to 20%-25% reduction of fat in the treated area, but it is important to remember that CoolSculpting® is NOT a weight-loss procedure. Following the procedure, typical side effects include temporary redness, swelling, blanching, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging, tenderness, cramping, aching, itching, or skin sensitivity, and sensation of fullness in the back of the throat after submental or submandibular area treatment.

How Long Does it Take to See Results from a CoolSculpting® Treatment?
Results may be seen as early as 1 to 3 months after treatment. Many patients opt in for multiple CoolSculpting® treatments in multiple areas to reach their body sculpting goals.

How Much Does CoolSculpting® Cost?
Since the CoolSculpting® procedure is so personal, there are many factors that determine the cost of treatment! Once a treatment plan has been decided with your provider, you will have a better idea of how many treatments you need and how many different areas you want treated.  The best way to determine the price of for your treatment plan is to get an in-person consultation.
