Fraxel will improve the tone and texture of your skin. Fraxel can dramatically reduce the appearance of wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, discoloration and other signs of damaged skin.

How We Do It

One of our medical aestheticians will consult with you about your desired results and perform a skin assessment. After determining that Fraxel is the best treatment for you, your provider will begin by numbing the treatment are with lidocaine cream for about 30 minutes. Your provider will remove the numbing cream and cleanse the treatment area and begin treating with the Fraxel laser.

Time to Full Effect

You will begin to see results starting around 7 days after your treatment. Because the laser stimulates collagen production, you will continue to see improvement in your skin for at least 3 months. We recommend a series of 3 Fraxels to achieve the best result.

Does Fraxel hurt?

Fraxel can be uncomfortable, but your provider will numb you with a lidocaine cream prior to treatment to minimize any discomfort. A calming mask is placed on the skin after treatment and you will be sent home with a skincare kit to help make Fraxel after-care painless.

Medications

Discontinue Retin-A or glycolic acids 3 days before treatment. You may resume Retin-A and other regular skin care regimens 1 week after treatment or as instructed.

Sun Protection

Under no circumstances will the procedure be performed if you have any suntan. It is therefore you have to wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen before and after your treatment.

Symptom Relief

If you have a history of herpes, you should take antiviral medication the day before, the day of, and three days after your Fraxel procedure.

Avoid Makeup

Please do not wear any makeup to your treatment session. You can resume wearing makeup 18-24 hours after your treatment. Mineral-based makeup is recommended.

Symptom Relief

Apply cold compresses to the treatment area for 10 minutes of every hour on the day of treatment, until you go to bed.

Physical Activity

Do not exercise, sweat, or expose yourself to heat for 24 hours after your treatment.

Use Gentle Products

Do not use any skincare products or makeup for 24 hours after your treatment. After the initial 24 hours, use gentle cleansers, lotions, SPF, and makeup. You can resume normal skincare products one week post procedure or when skin is fully healed.
